Materials
Yarn: 3 skeins Bazinga by Plymouth Yarn (or approximately 110 yards bulky or super-bulky yarn)
Needles: 24” circular size US 11 Needles
Gauge: 2 ½ stitches per inch in Feather & Fan stitch pattern
Instructions
Cast on 72 stitches. Join to knit in the round and place marker.
Round 1: Knit
Round 2: Purl
Round 3: *[k2tog] X 3, [yo, k1] X 6, [k2tog] X 3 Repeat from * to end of round.
Round 4: Purl
Round 5: Knit
Round 6: Knit
Work these 6 rounds a total of six times, then rounds 1 & 2. Bind off loosely.
I-Cord Embellishment
Work an 8-stitch I-Cord as follows:
Cast on 8 stitches onto either the circular needle or a DPN.
Knit one row. DO NOT TURN.
*Slide the stitches to the other end of the needle, draw the yarn across the back, and knit to end. DO NOT TURN. Continue knitting in this method until piece measures about 6”. Bind off.
Wrap this piece around the cowl, and seam the cast on and bind off ends together.
Definitions
YO: Yarnover; bring yarn forward between the needles and over right needle to back.
K2tog: Knit two stitches together as one stitch.
