Gauge: 2 pattern repeats = approximately 4 inches.
Hook: H
Yarn: 300 yards DK weight yarn (sample used Tonos Pima Silk DK by Misti)
Ch 98. Being careful not to twist, join with sl st in beg ch.
Round 1:
Ch 3 (counts as 1st dc here and throughout), dc in next ch, skip 2 ch, (3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) in next ch, skip 2 ch, * dc into next 2 ch, skip 2 ch, (3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) in next ch, skip 2 ch; repeat from * around, join with sl st in top of beg ch-3. You’ll have a total of 14 shells.
Round 2:
Ch 3, dc in next dc, (3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) in ch-sp, skip 2 dc, * dc in next 2 dc, (3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) in ch-sp, skip 2 dc; repeat from * around, join with sl st into 3rd st of beginning chain 3.
Rounds 3-10:
Repeat Round 2 eight more times. Fasten off.
Working along opposite side of foundation ch, join yarn with sl st under the right dc of any 2 dc group.
Repeat Rounds 1-10, lining up sts in Round 1 with the sts on the opposite side. Fasten off.
Weave in ends.
