Easy Watch Cap

Materials
- 1 skein Lamb’s Pride Bulky or other bulky yarn, approximately 125 yards
- Needles: 16” Circular and Double Pointed Needles - US 10 ½
- Darning Needle, Stitch Marker
Gauge: 3.5 sts = 1”
Instructions
Cast on: 72 stitches loosely. Being careful not to twist stitches, join to knit in the round, place marker.
Ribbing: Work in K2P2 rib until piece measures 4”.
Body of hat: Change to stockinette (knit all rounds). Continue in stockinette for another 5”.
Crown: Work decreases for crown as follows. Transfer stitches to double point needles when it becomes too small for circular needle.
Round 1 *K2, K2tog* Repeat * * to end of round. 54 stitches remain.
Round 2 Knit
Round 3 *K1, K2tog* Repeat * * to end of round. 36 stitches remain.
Round 4 Knit
Round 5 *K2tog* Repeat * * to end of round. 18 stitches remain.
Round 6 *K2tog* Repeat * * to end of round. 9 stitches remain.
Finishing: Break yarn, leaving a 6” tail. Thread tail into a tapestry needle, and pull yarn through stitches, removing them from needles. Gently but firmly pull to close hole. Weave in all ends on inside of cap.
