Using tapestry needle, draw yarn through remaining stitches, removing them from the needle, and gently draw the hole closed. Weave in the end inside the hat. Weave a length of ribbon/yarn through the eyelet holes, and tie it in the back.
**Note regarding eyelet : This is the part where the math gets you a bit. You’ll notice that the eyelet round is an 8-stitch repeat. This works out well for the girl’s size, because the total number of stitches is divisible by 8. For the ladies, it’s not quite as perfect: you’ll end up with two eyelet holes closer together. HOWEVER, if you place it at the back of the head where the ribbon ties, trust me, it won’t be noticeable. I didn’t even notice it until I sat down to write this pattern! The other option is to adjust the pattern a bit, to either 104 or 96 stitches, but then the top decreases will need to be adjusted as well. Personally, I like a nice, even 100-stitch hat ;-) Knitter’s choice!
