Quilted Diamonds Dishcloth

Materials

Yarn:  50 grams worsted weight yarn
Needles:  Size US 7 - 8

Gauge:  not important

Instructions

Cast on 28 stitches.

Knit two rows garter stitch. (Knit both rows)

Begin Quilted Diamonds pattern:

• Rows 1, 3 & 5: K2, [wyif sl3, k3] 4x, k2
• Row 2 & all WS rows: K2, p to last 2 sts, k2
• Row 7: k2, [k1, draw up 3 strands & k4tog with next stitch (see below), k4] 4x, k2
• Rows 9, 11, 13: k2, [k3, wyif sl3] 4x, k2
• Row 15: k2, [k4, draw up 3 strands & k4tog with next stitch (see below), k1] 4x, k2
• Row 16: same as row 2

Repeat rows 1 – 16 three or four times.

Knit two rows.

Bind off loosely. Weave in ends.

Definitions

Draw up 3 strands & k4tog with next stitch:

Place the left needle through the 3 strands below from
top to bottom, drawing them up onto the needle. You
can use the right needle tip to assist in getting the
strands on the left needle. Knit these 3 strands
together with the next stitch (k4tog).
