Garter Striped Scarf

Materials

Yarn: Super chunky yarn such as Burly Spun in 3 colors, approxiately 90 yards each
Needles: Size US 13 circular needle, 24" or longer

Gauge:  2 stitches per inch

Instructions

Cast on 170 stitches with color A. Note: Pattern as written is approximately 85” long, not including fringe. To make longer/shorter scarf, simply adjust cast-on stitches.

Knit 5 rows.

Color B: Knit 2 rows.

Color C: Knit 6 rows.

Color A: Knit 4 rows.

Color B: Knit 4 rows. Bind off.

Weave in ends.

Fringe

Each end of the scarf has 5 bundles of fringe, each made up of 1 strand of each color. So, cut ten 17” strands of each color and separate into 3 strands groups. Attach 5 groups evenly spaced to each end of the scarf as follows: Fold the yarn in half, and using the crochet hook, pull a loop through from the front of the scarf to the back. Pull the ends through the loop and tighten gently.
