Suri de Araña

Materials

Yarn: Brushed Suri from Frog Tree Yarns, two skeins
Needles: Size US 9

Instructions

Cast on 45 Stitches. (Width can be modified by adding or subtracting stitches in groups of 10.)

Knit two rows garter stitch (knit both rows).

Row 1: k2, (k1, yo, k2, ssk, k2tog, k2, yo, k1) 3 times, k3

Row 2 & 4: K2, purl to last two stitches, K2

Row 3: K3, (k1, yo, k2, ssk, k2tog, k2, yo, k1) 3 times, k2

Repeat rows 1-4 until scarf reaches desired length or you’re almost out of yarn, then knit 2 rows garter stitch.

Bind off loosely. Weave in ends and block lightly to enhance drape.

Definitions

yo: yarnover Wrap the yarn once from front to back around the right needle. On the next row, work it as a normal stitch. This creates a small hole.

ssk: slip slip knit (left leaning decrease) Slip two stitches from the left needle onto the right needle one at a time as to knit, insert the left needle in the front of the two stitches and knit them together.

k2tog: knit two together (right leaning decrease) Knit two stitches together as one.
